Goldsboro Christmas Parade

Goldsboro Christmas Parade

It’s typically this time of every year that we begin to promote the time-honored tradition of the Goldsboro Christmas Parade for the first Saturday in December.

After much discussion and planning of how to move forward safely with a community event, it was determined that holding a large community gathering is not feasible at this time. Unfortunately, due to State of NC Mandates prohibiting parades with over fifty (50) people in attendance, the Goldsboro Christmas Parade has been cancelled. Collectively with City leadership and law enforcement, your community has explored alternative traditional parades (such as a reverse parade – where floats and entries and stationary and cars drive by, and even a virtual parade.) Neither options were conducive due to spacing of Center street and the ability to safely navigate, and / or the inability to enforce social distancing.

As a community, we have a collective responsibility to work together to avoid spreading the disease, and the decision to cancel the Goldsboro Christmas Parade is based solely on the need to protect public health.

So now what?

We ask that you join us as we work to celebrate Christmas as a community, and place our energy into supporting local businesses – all of whom have been deeply impacted by the covid crisis.

While our family traditions will look different the first Saturday of December, Christmas isn’t cancelled.

The community is looking for creative ways to promote our local community and celebrate the ability to experience this beautiful community!
