JUNIOR LEADERSHIP

  • Junior Leadership was a vision and class project of the Leadership Wayne Class of 1998-1999. It began with the goal of exposing high school juniors to the many job opportunities in Wayne County and has evolved over the years to include team building and leadership skills exercises.

    Since its inception, over 320 students have graduated from this program.

    Annually, the Chamber seeks high school juniors to apply for the Junior Leadership Program.

    Junior Leadership meets for seven sessions from October through May. Participation in all events along with the completion of 10 hours of volunteer service hours is required. The graduation ceremony is held in May. Applications are posted at the beginning of the school year.

     

    This highly competitive process selects 25 high school juniors to participate in:

    Law and Government Day

    History Day

    Agribusiness Day

    Education Day

    Business and Industry

     

    Interested students should:

    Have a solid “B” or above average

    Possess positive social skills

    Be involved in school and/or community activities

    Have a desire to learn more about Wayne County

    Be willing to commit to 100% participation

    Have good moral character

W.I.S.E

  • The purpose of the Women in Leadership Committee of the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce is to empower, support, and advocate for women leaders in business and the community. The Committee is dedicated to building an inclusive environment where women can thrive, achieve their full potential, and contribute to the economic and social well-being of Wayne County through:

     

    1. Providing leadership development, mentorship, and networking opportunities for women at all stages of their careers.

    2. Advocating for policies and practices that promote gender equity and support the advancement of women in leadership roles.

    3. Celebrating and recognizing the achievements and contributions of women leaders in the community.

    4. Offering educational programs and resources that address the unique challenges and opportunities faced by women in the workforce.

    5. Organizing events, workshops, and forums that inspire, motivate, and connect women leaders.

     

    By achieving these objectives, the W.I.S.E. Committee aims to create a supportive network that persuades personal and professional growth, enhancing the impact of women leaders in Wayne County.

WAYNE EDUCATION NETWORK

  • The purpose of the Wayne Education Network of the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce is to promote excellence in education and strengthen the connection between educational institutions and the business community. WEN is dedicated to enhancing educational opportunities and outcomes for all students in Wayne County by:

     

    Advocating for policies and initiatives that support high-quality education and workforce development.

    Facilitating partnerships between schools, businesses, and community organizations to provide resources, mentorship, and real-world learning experiences for students.

    Promoting lifelong learning and professional development opportunities for educators and workforce members.

    Recognizing and celebrating the achievements of students, educators, and educational institutions within the community.

    Organizing events, workshops, and forums that address current educational challenges and opportunities, encouraging collaboration and innovation.

     

    By achieving these objectives, the Wayne Education Network aims to create a thriving educational ecosystem that prepares students for success in the workforce and life, ultimately contributing to the economic and social prosperity of Wayne County.

Our mission is to identify, establish, and nurture relationships with charitable partners whose values and goals align with our organization’s commitment to social responsibility. We aim to create opportunities for impactful projects, volunteer engagements, and resource sharing that benefit both our partners and the communities we serve. By leveraging our collective strengths, the committee seeks to drive positive change and support causes that matter most to our stakeholders.
